Lonny Morrison - President

Lonny MorrisLonny D. Morrison is the president of Offenhauser Oil & Gas, LLC, of Offenhauser Exploration Co., LLC and of Offenhauser Production Co., LLC. Lonny's involvement in the oil and gas business began as an eighteen-year-old roughneck on drilling rigs working in Kansas, the Oklahoma panhandle and the Texas panhandle. He later attended college on football scholarships. First he earned an Associate of Arts at Cameron Jr. College and later he earned a B.A. (as a Whiting Scholar) in economics from Washburn University, an M.B.A. from Oklahoma State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law. After law school, he developed a law practice representing primarily landmen, geologists, oil and gas operators and drilling contractors. He has been active in oil and gas exploration activities for more than twenty-five years.

As a member of the State Bar of Texas, he devoted his energies to the establishment and enforcement of ethical standards in the legal profession. His service to the State Bar of Texas includes election as its President (1993-94) and two terms on its Board of Directors. He also chaired the drafting committee on the Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure and chaired the Texas Commission for Lawyer Discipline.

The Presidents' Award is the highest award given by the State Bar of Texas and is given in recognition of extraordinary service to the bar and to the public. Lonny is the only person who has received such award more than once (1991 and 1999). He has also been honored by membership in America's premier legal societies -- the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is also a member of the American Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation. Additionally, he has repeatedly been honored by his peers' selection of him for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America and his designation as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine.

Lonny now devotes substantially all of his professional energies to the oil and gas business. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the North Texas Geological Society, the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Pete McElvain - Vice President

Pete McElvainPete R. McElvain is vice president of each of the Offenhauser companies. Pete has a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, with a 4.0 GPA from Midwestern State University in physics, and a second Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, with a 4.0 GPA (also from Midwestern State University) in geosciences. He received the President's Medal of Excellence twice as the outstanding student in the College of Sciences and Mathematics for his work on each degree and Sigma Gamma Epsilon's W.A. Tarr Award for outstanding work in earth sciences.

 Pete served his country as an officer and pilot in the United States Air Force. He is a Distinguished Graduate of the USAF undergraduate pilot training program, received the AETC Commander's Trophy as the outstanding pilot in his class, received the T-1 Academic Excellence Award and received the Flying Excellence Award. Pete received the Air Medal and the Iraqi Campaign Medal for combat missions flown in Iraq. In civilian life, Pete flies an F90 King Air regularly.

Pete devotes all of his professional energies to the oil and gas business. He is the vice president of the North Texas Geological Society, an Active Member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and a member of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers.

 

David Brite - Comptroller

David BriteDavid A. Brite, a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Texas, is the Comptroller of each of the Offenhauser companies. He is a native of Vernon, Texas, and holds a B.B.A. from Midwestern State University. Prior to joining us, David served as the Comptroller and later as the Chief Financial Officer of a public company engaged in the oil and gas business.

David was raised in the oil and gas business. His father worked in the Oil Division of the vast W. T. Waggoner Estate, the owner of the largest ranch in America "under one fence." During his college years, David worked on pipeline and well service crews.

David is a former President of The Petroleum Accountants Society ("COPAS") of Wichita Falls, is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a former officer of the Wichita Falls chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

 

Staff Members
